HC-170

CAS NO. Capstone™ 1470 HC-170
HC-170
Replacement / Analogu: Capstone™ 1470
Notes: Fluorosurfactant
Product Details

HC-170 is an amphoteric partially fluorinatedsurfactant that significantly reduces the surface tension of aqueous solutions. HC-170 enables the formation of an aqueous film that is distributed over the entiresurface of the hydrocarbon.

Applications

HC-170 is a film-forming fluorinated surfactant used in aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF), film-forming fluoroprotein foam(FFFP), and alcohol-resistant foams(AFFF-AR/FFFP-AR) against hydrocarbons and polar liquid fires.

It is fully compatible with anionic, cationic, amphoteric and nonionic hydrocarbon or fluoro chemical surfactants. And the fluorine surfactant is C6 product based on the telomerization method. HC-170 is not derived from PFOS (Perfluorooctyl Sulfonate) or from PFOA (Perfluorooctanoic Acid). HC-170 does not degrade into PFOS or PFOA.

Typical Properties:

Solubility:HC-170 can be diluted directly with water. Stability: At least two years if stored in original containers at temperatures not exceeding 55℃
Storage Stability:HC-170 should be stored at temperatures above 0℃. If frozen or a solid phase separates out of the product, warm the product to roomtemperature and mix it well before use. Freezing and thawing will not affect the properties of the product or its performance..

Product Safety:

HC-170, a C6 fluorotelomer surfactant, cannot degrade into PFOS or PFOA.

HC-170 is not an irritant on skin.

It is a minimal irritant on eyes.

Precautions and First Aid:

HC-170 should be handled with good industrial precautions. Safety goggles and rubber gloves, as well as protective clothing suitable to avoid skin contact should be worn. In case of contact with eyes, flush eyes with plenty of water and consult a physician. In case of skin contact, wash skin with plenty of water and soap.
